About Us

        The SCA is divided up into regional units knows as Kingdoms.  The Shire of Ravenwood is located within the Kingdom of Meridies, which includes part of the Southeastern United States, being the states of Alabama, Georgia, most of Tennessee, small portions of Kentucky and Virginia, and the panhandle of Florida.(Map of Meridies)

       The Shire of Ravenwood is centered in Albany Georgia and expands into Lee, Worth, Mitchell, Baker, and Terrell counties. We became a full-blown shire at DreamStone 1995, by order of Their then Majesties, Richard du Chinon and Katrina of Iron Mountain. All you need to do to participate with the shire is show up! Fighter practices are held every 3rd Saturday (weather permitting) at Turtle Park near the Riverquarium around 3:30 pm after the Business Meeting.

       We also make up 1/9th of the Southern Consortium. Our members study a wide variety of interests including armor, archery, bow making, wine making, Irish culture, medieval warfare, medieval dance, middle eastern drumming, costuming, and many others, and often join together defend our great lands at events such as Panhandle Skirmishes and Gulf Wars. The only thing that limits you in the SCA, particularly in the Shire of Ravenwood, is YOU! If you want to learn about it, go right ahead and do so!
